beerbill (1917), Laurel, New York, USA Oct 2, 2009 On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy gold with a moderate off-white head. I have to say the aroma was a big surprise and is full of grapefruit fruitiness and wildflowers. This is probably one of the most aromatic beers I have come across. The flavor is still good, but not as exceptional as the aroma with light malt followed by fruity grapefruit that is thankfully minus the white pith bitterness, for the most part. Moderate bitterness at the finish. This is a very good American Pale Ale. CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Sep 27, 2009 poured from 12 oz bottle Clear copper color with a nice sized light white head of foam. Aroma fairly nice showing some fresh hops, balanced malt and a residual sweetness. Flavour was full bodied, hops and tropical fruit present, malt good ness follows through, giving a nice balance. Most excellent beer. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Sep 27, 2009 Draft. Pours a golden orange body with a white head. Wheat and citrus with a lighter malt bill some caramel and earth accents. Floral pine and a lemon banana note. Decent. blipp (1612), Newark, New Jersey, USA Sep 13, 2009 Draft. Pours orange amber with a white head. Light sweet hoppy aroma with sweet malt. The flavor is well balanced, and has sweet caramel malts, floral hops, and a citric hint. Pretty good. Cletus (4999), Connecticut, USA Aug 31, 2009 Cask sample. Pours copper with a white head. Smells of bitter citrus, some caramel malt, spicy. Tastes of caramel, some earthy hints, sweet citrus, peppery, some bitterness on the finish. glennmastrange (805), hobe sound, Florida, USA May 21, 2009 Cask. Moderate malt and hop notes of roasted, caramel and grapefruit, light dough and broth for the yeast, with background notes of berry and toffee. Head is large, frothy, white, with excellent lacing and is fully lasting. Color is murky amber/tan. Flavor is slightly sweet and lightly acidic to start, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is medium, oily and has a flat carbonation. An awesome, aromatic American Pale Ale. The fact that it came out of a cask certainly added to it’s better qualities. zdk (180), New York, USA May 17, 2009 half gallon growler. Pours nice orange color with thick head. Fresh, citrus nose. Hops was stronger than I was expecting, but was pleasantly surprised.
Wanted a higher abv. I drank almost the whole half gallon myself and hardly felt it... this is a lot for me. LinusStick (1830), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 17, 2009 On tap at Bocktown. I was pleasantly surprised with this beer. Aroma was all hops. Pour was a nice light gold with a one finger near white head. Taste was fantastic. Strong citrusy hops with some pine and and just enough malt to stop if from crossing into IPA category. Prickly mouthfeel with a tongue drying bitterness. Delicious!
