Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Pale Ale has a light golden color but explodes with a rich full-flavor. This refreshing ale is top fermentated and hopped at three different stages of the brewing process. English pale malt lends complexity to this brew. Small amounts of Wheat and Carapils round out the malt bill. Brewed to satisfy the hop lover, this pale ale has an immediate floral-citrus flavor that pervades the overall character of this hoppy, quenching microbrew.

On tap at Bocktown. I was pleasantly surprised with this beer. Aroma was all hops. Pour was a nice light gold with a one finger near white head. Taste was fantastic. Strong citrusy hops with some pine and and just enough malt to stop if from crossing into IPA category. Prickly mouthfeel with a tongue drying bitterness. Delicious!

Pint from a fresh cask at Jimmy’s 43 in nyc. Smooth with perfect hop taste from a much stronger beer, without much bitterness. Rich flavor, full bodied, and was well served by the cask. Lots of pine, flower and banana. Some citrus too. An idealized Pale.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a light golden color, nice mix of citrus and flowery hop aroma. Taste is very subtle and not very overpowering. Palate was remarkably smooth. Similar to summer ale but less sweet. Good beer to drink if you wanna have more than a few.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma strongly of grassy and floral hops. Flavor has some sweet malt with a bitter hop base. Somewhat astringent bitter finish, but not bad.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a light orange with a small white head. Aroma of bitter hops. Flavor is dominated by bitter hops...where is the malt?? Very unbalanced and the hops are too bitter for me. Yuck.

Poured from a firkin at Zeno’s Pub - State College, PA. Aroma develops a crisp, real rose-like fresh floral character. Grass clippings and fresh hay. Good coppery pour, with sparse, rocky head. Flavor moves as a pretty hop-inflected tone. There must be Cascade here. Malt character mostly buried by a pretty fresh hop blast. The body is good for firkin with a low level of carb, but percolates with freshness and good estery mineral profile. Enjoyable and somewhat unique. An American Pale ale, with a real English history.

very estery, almost confused this with the blueberry ale during a tasting at the brewery. Not that great.

On tap at the Mad Mex, Robinson. Aroma of mild floral hops, smells like a mild IPA. Pale yellow ubiquitous american beer color. A quarter inch white head. Bitter chewing on grapefruit rind flavors. Almost like an IPA in character, now I know why this IPA rates so high on this site. Barely any carbonation, but slightly more than flat. Overall, probably would not buy this again, just a little too much like an IPA for me. Bitter medicinal linger for a few minutes after the session.
