Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Pale Ale has a light golden color but explodes with a rich full-flavor. This refreshing ale is top fermentated and hopped at three different stages of the brewing process. English pale malt lends complexity to this brew. Small amounts of Wheat and Carapils round out the malt bill. Brewed to satisfy the hop lover, this pale ale has an immediate floral-citrus flavor that pervades the overall character of this hoppy, quenching microbrew.

Tap @ the brewery. Pours an amber color with a small head. Aroma is faint hops with malt included as well. Taste is the same. Smooth, drinkable, nice hop aftertaste.

This beer was not that thrilling for me, I’m having trouble remembering it because nothing really stood out to me.

On tap at the brewery. Very mild aroma with a amber appearance. Flavor has some nice hop flavors to it but there is nothing overpowering. This Pale Ale seems to sacrificer complexity for balance, which isn’t always that good a choice.

1/2 pint cask at Stout NYC. Reddish amber. Almost entirely clear. Served ice cold. Very small white coarse head. Earthy aromas from the English yeast. and perhaps also a little from the hops. Slightly nutty. Fuggles flavours. Surprisingly high bitterness that is long-lasting. Dry crisp aftertaste. Hints of yeast in the flavour. Clean Maris-Otter maltiness. Very English except for the high bitterness level.

Draft at KClingers. Very pale and still, golden amber. Quite a gluey head of white foam. Have to inhale real hard thru the nostrils to get any of the light fruity aroma. But the flave isn’t shy ... apricot almost, and of course hoppy. Creamy mouthfeel. Fully bitter finish like a fruit rind. (#3000, 7/3/2007)

on cask at the blind tiger, nyc. dark amber/light brown with copper edges. little/few bubbles in lieu of head. aroma is earthy pale malt and sweet like stale crunch berries, very low carbonation and slick mouthfeel, medium texture. flavor is pale earthy malt, dry and a bit roasty, but some hoppy bitterness in the finish. a bit of burnt paperboard in the aftertaste.

On cask at the Blind Tiger in NYC. The appearance was golden to slight amber with a light thin foam head that subsided quickly, nothing impressive. The aroma was typical pale ale, nice citrus and floral notes, a touch of pine. The flavor was pale malts, citrus (oranges?) and floral most dominant, maybe some biscuits under it all. Mouthfeel was moderate, decent body for the style, perhaps because of the cask and warmer temperatures. Carbonation average, nice stuff.

Cask conditioned at Mahars. Perfect session beer. Poured dark yellow with a good froth. Aroma biting and sweet. Flavor was hoppy enough, very light and refreshing.
