Jun 7, 2004 Deep straw yellow wearing a low white head. Explosive minty c-hops, grapefruity and citrusy with a nice cookie malt base. It appears remarkably balanced for what it is. Grapefruit oriented taste, but with this nice mint touch adding to the typical orange and light lemon. It’s mostly straightforward, but pleasant nonetheless. Mostly thin to medium bodied with a high carbonation. I’m usually not a fan of C-hops redundant stories, but after a few so-so beers, this one was welcomed and I may have overrated it.

Oct 22, 2006 on tap-pours an offwhite head with copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt, hops. Taste is equal malt and hops, but not quite right. OK carbonation.

Aug 31, 2009 Cask sample. Pours copper with a white head. Smells of bitter citrus, some caramel malt, spicy. Tastes of caramel, some earthy hints, sweet citrus, peppery, some bitterness on the finish.

Jun 4, 2004 Overwhelming, grapefruity C-hops merge into orange zest formation and deftly fly through the nostril forest...Less assertive than expected from the aroma, the flavors seem to attempt balance but fail, as caramel sweetness is nowhere near as confident as the exhibitionist hoppiness...A very good hoppy pale ale, aimed to please lovers of citrusy bitterness...

Apr 2, 2006 On tap at the brewery. Pale golden beer, white head. Sweet citrusy hops. Simple and cascady. Moderate bitterness and a simple malt bill lets the hops shine. Easy to drink.

Jun 28, 2004 Medium sized short lasting head. Clear sparkling light orange color. Aoma of light malt and fresh oranges. Light fizzy palate. Flavor of oranges and sour grapefruit. Finishes with a light bitterness.

Jun 7, 2004 Bottle. Nice hoppy aroma belies the fact that there is not a lot of bitterness in the body. Pleasant and well balanced but restrained and unexciting. Mondiale 3T (Capflu).

Jul 8, 2007 Draft at KClingers. Very pale and still, golden amber. Quite a gluey head of white foam. Have to inhale real hard thru the nostrils to get any of the light fruity aroma. But the flave isn’t shy ... apricot almost, and of course hoppy. Creamy mouthfeel. Fully bitter finish like a fruit rind. (#3000, 7/3/2007)
