Growler at Stony Brook Beverage! Amber pour with a medium , creamy off white head. the rye is more apparent in the flavor then the aroma. Kind of sweet, yet a bit dry. I enjoyed this and it fit the category of getting something different.

22oz bottle. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a medium creamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of spicy rye notes, caramel malt, Cheerios and some mixed citrus and floral hop notes. Flavor of citrus, floral and grapefruit hop notes, spicy rye, moderate hop bitterness and bready. Touch of caramel and toasted malt.

Tap at Blind Tiger. Poured a dark golden amber. Nose was rye and malty. Mouthful was a bit thin. This had some nice rye flavors, and decent malts, with a touch of sweetness, and a slight alcohol bite. Finish was malty and sweet too. Pretty good, but something seems to be missing.

Amber colored body topped by a medium sized manila head. Aroma is caramel with some orange blossoms. The rye is more pronounced in the flavor. Body is fairly light.

Pours golden with a light head. Slightly floral and peppery aroma. Initial fast is sweet filled by a dryness. A bit overwhelming. Needs some more body to take the edge off the dryness.

Tap @ Monster B’s. Dark gold color with minimal head. The brew has a interestingly smooth body but bland in flavor that is difficult to pinpoint. Rye flavors are present, but little to detect in the hop/malt department. There is also a lack of perceptible notes.

Serving: 22 oz. bottle. Appearance: Slightly hazy amber with a creamy, off-white head. The head is quite nice and hangs around for some time. Pretty decent lacing left behind. Aroma: Wheat, rye, and some pine hops. Not quite as strong or as distinctive as I was hoping. Taste: Bready malt, some pine resin, and citrus hops. Forward bitterness. Good but lacking a wow factor. Palate: Very smooth, almost creamy carbonation with a medium-full mouthfeel and a little oiliness. Medium finish with some lingering bitterness. Overall: Definitely good and different, this one was really nice on the palate. On the downside, it was kind of average in the taste department. Would I buy it again: Probably not. I am glad I bought it and the price isn’t outrageous, but it just isn’t great enough to warrant being a regular purchase.

Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Cloudy copper colour, small head. Grapefruit aroma. Mid-sweet with clean mouthfeel, bready limp and hard crystallic malt, a bit of lemon and then a quick piney finish. More experimental than drinkable or tasty.
