Not overpowering with a nice slight cherry flavor. Hints in the aroma of their Oatmeal stout and a nice smooth flavor. Excellent brew. Top notch. saint386 (4), Lancaster, New York, USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 9, 2006 Draft: inky in the glass as it should be.Roasty and fruity nose. Very complex taste but true to style. Fruity and roasted finish with slight alcohol at the back of the throat. Didn’t get any cherries but I’m sure they have a hand in the overall taste profile. Very nice but high alcohol makes for limited consumption at one sitting. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA

Very authentic cherry aroma with strong notes of chocolate and coffee. Very well-balanced, with the perfect amount of sweetness, tartness and creaminess. In fact, I’m impressed with how smooth this one is, considering that cherries sometimes make things too tart to be called "smooth". There is a slight astringency in the finish from the alcohol, but it’s warming and not bothersome, nor does it detract from enjoying the rest of the experience. Aroma of heavy dark chocolate, molasses, dark malt, mild cherry. Tastes rich and roasty dark malty, with dark chocolate and subdued cherry notes. Rich, creamy palate, with solid complexity. I had two glasses of this and will likely growler it in the future. This is a very good beer. Cletus (5056), Connecticut, USA

Deep black with ruby flashes and a small tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, tobacco, chocolate, cherry and smoke. Flavour is very nice - hints of source cherry poke through a fantastic malty stout, with a lingering bitter and fruity finish that gets better and better as it warms. Mouthfeel is a little light for an Imperial, but it works well with this beer. Nice stuff! jstraw (774), Chicago, Illinois, USA
