Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Summer Ale has a delicious golden taste. In addition to traditional barley malt; a substantial portion of wheat malt is added to the mix giving this brew a unique tartness that's not found in many beers today. A small amount of lemon is added with one other "special" ingredient that all combine together to produce a light, thirst-quenching, citrus flavor microbrew enjoyed by all on a hot, Long Island Summer day.

A typical golden ale. Aroma was weak, but lemon, wheat and light malt are in there. Pour was a nice light gold with a one finger white head. Taste was very subdued and a little boring. Wheat, citrus and a little tang in the front with a wierd sweet aftertaste. Not much carbonation which would have helped.

Bottle. Pours clear light amber with a thin white head. Citrus, caramel, earth, and bread in the aroma. Light body. Flavor is lightly sweet with grass, caramel, and citrus. Simple and drinkable.

Bottle sampled. Pours bright golden with a small white head. Aroma of biscuit from pale malts & citrus. The flavor is slightly sweet upfront, lemon, slight biscuit, and small traces of hops in the finish.

From a bottle. Pours a light orange color. Smell and taste are pretty bland. Little lemon citrus flavor pokes through but taste more light lager-like than anything else.

Smells of sweet malt. Pours a hazy golden milky yellow. Taste is watery and weak, with a bitter finish. Nothing special

12 oz bottle purcahsed in a mix six from Monaghan’s. Poured a golden orange with some floating particles and a small white bubbly head. Nutty citrus aroma. Medium bodied with carbonation. Slightly malty flavor with just a touch of bitterness on the finish with lots of concentration on what was apparently missing from the flavor. Out of all the summer time bombs I tried I have to admit this was one of the best.

8/11/07 - 12 oz bottle. Nose of alcohol, lemon and malt. A bit spicy. Light gold. Small white head. Bit of lacing. Nice ale, with hop and lemon finish. Not bad. Good on a hot afternoon in, well, summer.

Bottle. Pours golden in color with a good white head. The aroma is slightly sweet with a lot of citrus. The flavor is very mellow, probably from the wheat malts used with a bit of citrus. All-in-All, very good on a hot day.
