Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Summer Ale has a delicious golden taste. In addition to traditional barley malt; a substantial portion of wheat malt is added to the mix giving this brew a unique tartness that's not found in many beers today. A small amount of lemon is added with one other "special" ingredient that all combine together to produce a light, thirst-quenching, citrus flavor microbrew enjoyed by all on a hot, Long Island Summer day.

correct me...we are talking about a summer ale here right? well, just like everything else they make they did a good job! this beer has good body developed and exhibited in a quality way it has a hop taste and aroma albeit light and a tasty summer flavor that is not strong and perfect for hot summer days. you can drink a few and enjoy yourself. this is a beer snob’s summer ale.enjoy!

12 oz bottle. Poured an orange body with a strange smell. Long island? The taste was dry and a bit hoppy. Didnt really taste the citrus in it all that much.

(12 oz bottle) this one reminds me of a kolsh. a dry palate with a moderate bitter and a slight citrus. moderate carobation. a crisp refreshing brew for a hot summer day. i think these ratings are a bit low. its not a complex brew but the flavor is distinct and quite enjoyable.

Not a drain pour but just a very bland and unintresting beer. something I will most likely avoid in the future.

Clear golden, moderate head. Aroma is stale, hints of moldy bread. Flavor is papery. Hmm.. it’s dead, but it doesn’t look like I’m missing much.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear golden color with a fizzy white head. Aroma has a light citrus and hop mix. Some wheat as well. Flavor is light and pretty simple. Some light fruitiness with some light hops. Bitterness is apparent in the middle with a very clean and watery finish. Easy to drink a lot of these.

A pleasant enough summer ale. Crisp malt / wheat / citrus, a little sweetness, a little offsetting citrus sour. Not complex, easy to drink. And the low alcohol is a big plus ... this is a lawn mowing beer, a beer for standing at a hot grill flipping burgers, or a beer after a round of golf. Nothing complicated, but a pleasant enough easy drinking brew.
