Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Toasted Lager is our flagship product. Copper in color this brew is made from Six different malts including: English Pale, Crystal, Munich, Carapils, Wheat and Belgian Caravienna. Toasted Lager displays a balanced flavor of malt and hop which makes it easy drinking. Special lager yeast is used to produce that long lasting, smooth finish. The "toasted" part of the name refers to our direct-fire brew kettle; hot flames imparts a toasted flavor to our most popular microbrew.

This was pretty good, considering it is a lager. I do not usually enjoy lagers, as they are barren of any body or taste. However, this beer has a reasonable amount of body. Once upon a time, I sampled this beer on draft at a beer convention. It was seriously "toasty". It fuckin tasted like a loaf of burned Sunbeam....But in a fuckin excellent way. However, in the bottle it loses it’s French Toast appeal, and tasted more like an Amber Bock. Fuckin-A, I really liked the "burnt toast" flavor this beer exhibited at the beer show! Hey, Blue Point, turn the fuckin temperature up on the oven and toast this shit! Your Hoptical Illusion is great, but it seems as though you are shooting for a commerical "dark" lager with this. FUCKIN TOAST IT DICKHEADS!

Quite a nice lager. Smooth and crisp with clover and doughy notes, subdued as they are, with light malt tones overlying a faintly hopped character.

Bottle. Great aroma, some toasty biscuit smelling malts and buttery bread and toast aroma. Flavor not so good, a bit weak, with watery butter and cereal grains. Ok overall, nothing special but I’ve been craving a good lager for a while and this one works.

On tap at a promo night at Andy’s in Bagota. Pours a beautiful amber with a clear body and minimal head. There is definitely a toasted flavor to this beer and you can smell it before you taste it. Malty enough to be called a lager with just a little bt of hops for balance.

If you take this beer in context, it is actually quite excellent. It is usually served along side Coors and Bud Light here on Long Island. Nice slight malty aroma and flavor. Nothing complex but it still has a lot more character than its competitors.

Very good lager. Makes me want to not be afraid to be a lumber jack. But it’s such god darn dangerous work. Oh well.
