Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Toasted Lager is our flagship product. Copper in color this brew is made from Six different malts including: English Pale, Crystal, Munich, Carapils, Wheat and Belgian Caravienna. Toasted Lager displays a balanced flavor of malt and hop which makes it easy drinking. Special lager yeast is used to produce that long lasting, smooth finish. The "toasted" part of the name refers to our direct-fire brew kettle; hot flames imparts a toasted flavor to our most popular microbrew.

I thought this was a nice effort. It has some really nice copper looks with a nice firm head. The nose had a nicely tamed aroma of malt. It had a fair amount of bitterness that blended out to a nice smooth palate.

Light beige head about 1 cm thick. Good carbonation. Light roasty aroma with some bready malts, vanilla and a touch of hops. Color is a orange amber. Light and crisp flavor. More tasted graisn, and more of a hops presence. Good balance between the hops and the roastyness. Finished with a little bit of alcohol presence which I am quite surprised at with only 4.8% abv. Lingering malty sweetness and a hint of hops bitterness. This is a pretty good brew and s pretty good representation of the style.

Copper brown, pleasant nutty, malty nose. Very mild hopping, sweet palate, bordering on cloying. Nice, malt driven beer, but perhaps a bit too sweet to really enjoy in any kind of volume.

Pours copper with diminishing white head. Lacing evident. Nose of toasted grains with a hint of hop. Nice and smooth. Easy drinking. Good session beer.

Bottle - Dark amber color with a creamy head. Sweet malt aroma. Flavor is similarly sweet malt with some roasted grain notes and slightly hoppy balance.

Blue Point was on point for this delicious beer. Pour was a dark amber/burnt orange with no head. Aroma was of malt and not much else. Taste was sweet malt with little carbonation but had some hops flirting in an out as well. This would be a good "hot day" beer.

This lager pours a cloudy amber color, but settles clear, topped off by a creamy, small light-brown head. Fair lacing behind a fully diminishing head. Aroma is of light grain malts with straw notes. Amber noted a sweet, inviting aroma. Initial taste was moderately sweet, easing to a light sweet finish with average duration. Light to medium on the palate, it leaves us dry with soft carbonation. Overall, it was a drinkable beer, not a favorite but tasty. Reviewed on October 8, 2006

This lager has a pretty clear, amber body with tiny particles floating about. The small white head fades quickly. The aroma is lightly hoppy. The flavor is lightly bitter and the body is light, a bit watery and leaves a slightly chalky feeling in the mouth. I didn’t really detect anything toasted or any malt for that matter. Pretty ordinary.
