The aroma is toasted bread and perhaps a bit of oxidation. The flavor has virtually no hop credit and only that mild, smooth maltiness. WISEGUY572 (1246), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Great name, wonderful copper color got me all set for an intensely flavored beer. This was light in the mouth, lightly hopped, light on the malt, with a slightly nasty finish. Yeah, there were notes of Vienna malt, and notes of toasted malt, but there was just nothing great and enough slightly wrong. Did not finish my draft, and would not order again. da845 (139), new york, New York, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 13, 2006 It poured nicely, a clear golden liquid with small bubbles along the sides of the glass. A small, tight white head quickly disapeared. The dark color and the "toasted" title led me to anticipat4e a strong flavored lager. It wasn’t strong flavored. It was well balanced but light on both hops and malt. It went down quickly, crisp and refreshing. eaglefan538 (2363), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2006 Poured with a decent initial head that faded. Aroma was somewhat nutty and this one went down smooth. Very drinkable and the flavor was of caramel malts, some nuts, and somewhat sweet - quite complex for a lager and had a sharp but pleasant hop finish/balance. Mild spicing detected. I’d go back to this one as a nice smooth, flavorful, crisp beer. fbennett (293), Lowell, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 30, 2006 Wow, I loved this lager. It poured a dark blonde basically a light brown with a foamy tan head. The aroma is initially sour musty with a sweet fruity background followed by a oaky vanilla flavor. The taste is fantastic, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, sugar cookies are all upfront with a pungent spicy lemon citrus background for balance. This is a playful lager that tantalizes the palate with sweet and funky notes.

Way better than any of the generic beer brand at a great price. Smooth, drinkable and just damn good. Blue point brewing is a small place on a back road here in patchogue close to the shore of the great south bay. SuIIy (1448), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 21, 2006 12oz bottle. Pours a golden color with a small white fizzy head that receedes to nothing. Nose is grassy and honey sweetness. Palate is thin, watery, and tingly. Flavor is honey, sugars, light vienna malt notes.
