Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Toasted Lager is our flagship product. Copper in color this brew is made from Six different malts including: English Pale, Crystal, Munich, Carapils, Wheat and Belgian Caravienna. Toasted Lager displays a balanced flavor of malt and hop which makes it easy drinking. Special lager yeast is used to produce that long lasting, smooth finish. The "toasted" part of the name refers to our direct-fire brew kettle; hot flames imparts a toasted flavor to our most popular microbrew.

Not bad overall, was a deep amber color, slightly grainy/grassy in both aroma and flavor, hops were almost undetectable. Was easy to drink, I just wish it was either less grainy and more roasted (darker) or more sweet.

Courtesy of Shadey <P> While this is exactly without an aroma it is low enough in intensity that if it were a fart no one could pinpoint enough to lay blame at any one person. Vaguely hoppy is all I can say. Tea colored..thin filmy white head. Slight metallic tinge int he fore yields to a fairly toasty (hey like the name) grain flavor with mild hop notes and a tinge of sweetness.

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with shadey, thanks Shane!) "For brewery fresh taste, purchase before Jan, 2006." For some reason, I was expecting a really good amber lager, but this is as ordinary as ordinary can get. Lightly sweet and caramely, but mostly just generically malty with a balancing hop bitterness. In fact, not even all that flavorful period. Vaguely malty and caramely nose isn’t winning me over either. Medium bodied, barely, but clean on the palate, and with good carbonation. Golden amber color shows only slight haziness, and the half inch or so of off-white head settles to small ring while leaving no lacing on the glass. Totally ho-hum.

Pours a two-fingered cream head that fades quickly leaving some lace. Clear amber color. Weak malty/hoppy nose. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Starts sweet but hops dominate finish. Moderately bitter after taste. $1.95 for a 12oz bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, Ma.

Yellow/amber color with a nice head. Light aroma and flavor. Malty but toasted? Was I supposed to taste that? I didn’t. Light and refreshing. Would make a good porch sipper.

Red amber lager with creamy off-white head. Light sweet malt in aroma with sharp hops. Very caramelly malt with sharp german hops. Fairly good malt base with nutty notes. Medium bodied. On tap at Clark’s Ale House, Summer 2005.
