Commercial Description:
Blue Point Brewing's Toasted Lager is our flagship product. Copper in color this brew is made from Six different malts including: English Pale, Crystal, Munich, Carapils, Wheat and Belgian Caravienna. Toasted Lager displays a balanced flavor of malt and hop which makes it easy drinking. Special lager yeast is used to produce that long lasting, smooth finish. The "toasted" part of the name refers to our direct-fire brew kettle; hot flames imparts a toasted flavor to our most popular microbrew.

Bottle courtesy of trade with beerbill. Deep orange color, big white frothy head that dissipates rather quickly. Sweet malts, slight yeasty aroma (which is relatively mild). Flavor much the same-sweet malts, slightly toasted up front. Bread layer underneath, finishes with slight hoppy bitterness, just a twinge of a metallic aftertaste. Pretty drinkable, fairly unremarkable.

Situation: As a fan of Fort Collins’ Z, I liked the thought of this one out on the deck to cool off the evening... Glassware: 23 oz. lager Appearance: a whirlpool (a vortex?) of bubbles swirl up a firey burnt orange body with beautiful, thick white head... Aroma: immediate bread aroma with a tinge of nut and oat--smells hearty and lightly yeasted... Palate: smooth, slightly warming at the throat... medium-bodied and courteaous in its movement down... Taste: definite ESB nuttiness in this; as in the aroma, a bit nutty and bready; full-flavored and walking a tightrope between sip and savor and swish and slam... Overall: strengthens its consistency as the glass drains; caramel comes to the fore, an interesting flavor to a lager... holds its own against the cigar I am smoking...one suggestion: flaunting medals on the label is a bit of shameless self-promotion, no? Let the beer do the talking, as this lager is capable of...

Draft. Pours clear reddish brown with foamy white head. Aroma is mild and sweet, malty. It has a sweet toasted malt flavor, caramelly with a bit of bitterness at the end. Its drinkable but nothing special.

Light amber color, small beige head. Malty, bready aroma. Malty, lightly sweetish flavor, some sweetcorn! Dry aftertaste...it is what it is...

Overall Impression: A pretty run of the mill lager, it has some decent characteristics to it, but certainly nothing too special. It’s a better then macro lager, but not too much more then that.

Not one to care for lagers, this one isn’t bad but nothing seems to stand out either.

12 ounce bottle from somewhere. Pours a clear light copper color with a thin head... decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is toasted malts, caramel and light fruit notes. Taste is toasted malts, caramel, butterscotch, faint bitter hops and light stone fruit notes. Medium bodied.

Weak malt aroma with a noticeable peachiness. Clear amber, thick white head. Watery and slightly grainy, maybe some cherries. Grass finish. Tastes like a cheap macro lager. Overrated.
