Jan 27, 2003 Pretty good. Reminds me of Red Hook Blonde Ale. Has a sweet aroma and flavor, but not too sweet. I also like the color, it's a bit darker than I expected. (Oops - I posted this review on a River Horse beer by mistake.)

Jan 26, 2003 Amber color. Small head. Aroma is sweet malt. A medium bodied lager. Malts are slightly sweet. Hops are soft and slightly spicy. Nicely balanced. Taste is somewhere between a lager and an amber/Vienna. Nice refreshing beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Jan 3, 2003 Dull amber. Scant, off white head. Slow, big bubbled carbonation. Caramel and light toasted malt aroma with flakes of spicy hops. Crisp yet firmly malted with caramel notes, toasty husks and a touch of cocoa. Spicy hop balance. Medium body. Quite full for a lager, though crisply finishing. Ends with a toasted caramel, spicy hop mixture and clean water finish. Not quite a Vienna but a good amber lager.

Jun 22, 2002 While it is a good quality beer, there is entirely too much smoke. The hops are completly overpowered by the smoky malt. A little too over the top. While Blue Ridge has been doing well, this beer is unfortunatly an exception for me.

Jun 18, 2002 The aroma is smoky. The palate is smoky. This beer is way too smoky and hoppy to be a Vienna lager as it is billed. An odd beer.
