Commercial Description:
The national drink of England is an ale called "Bitter," designated as "Ordinary," "Best" and "Extra Special Bitter," or ESB, depending on its body and strength. Our version is coppery red and medium-bodied. Its tangy hop character is nicely balanced by the biscuit-like flavor of specially roasted barley malt.

Slightly hazy red-copper w/ finger of beige foam. Very citrusy, piny nose w/ malt background. Medium body. Good clean malt & fresh hoppy flavour. Not overstated but quite good.

12 oz. bottle. Poured out a darker shade of a hazy copper color. Cloudy appearance to it. Smells of caramel, hops, and malts. Actually smells just like Bigfoot ale. Tastes very smooth, with a nice malt beginning to it. Has that classic Centennial hops bite to it as well. Finishes smooth, with a caramel aftertaste to it. A pretty good beer, all in all.

Quite malty and more bitter than an English Bitter. More like a US amber ale. Plenty of malt, but they get lost behind the hop assault. Why do I buy these beers?

Poured a red body with a white head that quickly diminshes. No lacing.
Very hoppy aroma with an underwhelming malt presence.
'Biscuit-like' quality is there in the flavor with an almost IPA level hoppiness. Very strange combination of color, malt and hops that comes together nicely.
A bit of a chalky mouthfeel.

Good flavor, very hoppy for a good ESB representation. Sweet for a red, better than red ale.

Deep copper colored with significant floral hop and malt tones in the aroma. Thick malt flavor contributes to a caramely full body that finishes with mellow, not overly-assertive hop bitterness. A fine ESB.
