Commercial Description:
The national drink of England is an ale called "Bitter," designated as "Ordinary," "Best" and "Extra Special Bitter," or ESB, depending on its body and strength. Our version is coppery red and medium-bodied. Its tangy hop character is nicely balanced by the biscuit-like flavor of specially roasted barley malt.

This is one of the best ESBs you’ll ever try. Rich malty body and plenty of fresh hops flavor and aroma. Wow! You cannot beat this one. I’ve had lots of ESBs from England and I don’t think they compare to Blue Ridge ESB. Fine ale.

I really enjoyed this beer when I tried it this time around. The bottle I had was very fresh. The beer had nice fruit driven hops and good malt. I have had the beer in the past and it was only OK. But Blue Ridge is really making some great strides in the recent past. I hope they keep up the good work.

I believe Blue Ridge ESB is the same beer as Crooked River ESB. Both labels are owned by Snyder International Brewing Group, which brews both ESBs at its Frederick brewery. However, this is a good pint of beer. My sample was bottled last week. The beer had a big head that faded quickly. The palate is malt accented, with a balanced hop finish. The malty aspect of this beer is very much like a cookie. Good brew.

Clear red, extremely small white head. Awesome aroma: very sweet and sugary with hints of licorice. Very ’bready’ flavor, reminded me of gingerbread; yeasty as well as hoppy. Immediate aftertaste is moderately hoppy. Nice. My first from Blue Ridge.

A solid beer. It isn’t complicated in taste but it is very firm in its non-pretentious taste. I am quite fond of this beer and given the iceman and I are getting fuckin loaded off this shit I am even more inclined to give it the awesome rating that it just deserves.

A very good biter. Sold for $5.99 a six in PA and worth every penny. Would love to try it on tap.

A classic English ’Bitter’. Quite a good ale, good malt nose and fairly well hopped. Decent carbonation and a good all round brew.
