POur is a nice black with a tan head. Aroma is very nice with a lot of roasted malt and dark chocolate coming out. Flavor is much of the same. Some roasted malts with a nice heavy dose of chocolate. Smooth and easy to drink makes this a above average porter.

12oz bottle. Dark brown but not quite opaque. Finger width of beige head. Caramel and cocoa with chocolate and red fruit aromas. Medium bodied with a sweet initial roasty flavor. Nice coffee acidic middle. Finish is off=dry with a slightly cloying acid flavor. Short lived piney hop flavor. Not too bad.

Bottle. Rich chocolate aroma incorporates strong roasted malt notes as well. Restrained sweetness with a touch of toast. Fizzy tan head rests on a black pour with some brown-red peaking out from the bottom. Roast and toast malt are initially the strongest, though they eventually subside, chocolate takes a step backward but remains classy in the middleground before returning to the fore, and there’s just a tiny dollop of hops prickling their way across the soft palate. Velvety smooth and moreish. A little thinner than desired but that’s not really a flaw here. Aftertaste is a lovely dark toast. Really no bitterness here except for balance, a trait I’d like to see explored further; indeed, a little bit unusual for style, and missing some typical sourish notes, but on the whole, a very good, gentle porter.

12 oz bottle thanks to Secret Santa. Pours dark chocolate in color with an over sized head (too much for a porter). Semi-sweet, chocolate aroma with ash and licorice hints. Solid porter aroma. The flavor has chocolate undertones, toasted grains, and a semi-sweet hint. Standard for a porter but good. Semi-dry mouth feel and slightly over carbonated. A fair brew.

12 OZ bottle via slob(thanks!). Pours a dark brown almost black with an average size tan head. The aroma is chocolate, coffee, toasty malts. Flavor is roasted malt, nutty and a little chocolate with a slight bit of fruit, perhaps figs. Well carbonated. Medium body. Very drinkable porter.

12 oz bottle, via slob. Pours a clear brown colored body under a small fizzy dark brown head that faded to a whispy film quickly. Aroma is equal parts chocolate and roast with some anise, alcohol, coffee, and chalk. Flavor is quite roasty and overly astringent. Not sure where the commercial description on the bottle came from. Lots of coffee and burnt malt on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with very fizzy large bubbled carbonation. Overall, I really just didn’t care too much for this one. Way too astringent and burnt for a Porter.

Poured dark ruby with a brown, bubbly head. Aroma was very toffee, and the body was too cloying. Drinkable, but not very enjoyable.

A very deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet and quite spicy combined with a light touch of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with light notes of malt, chocolate, and roasted malt, leading to a chocolaty end. OK porter, but in the light end of the spectrum.
