| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2005 This bottled brew poured a small sized head of frothy fine to medium sized mostly lasting light brown colored bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body contained soft carbonation, was nearly opaque and brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of malty mild brown malt . Its mouth feel is smooth mild thick maltty. Its flavor contained mild brown malt notes and was tasty. All-in-all very nice brew. PattiA (49), Madison, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 11, 2005 It’s a dark, almost opaque brown with a small tannish head which didn‘t stick around all that long but did leave traces in the glass. The slight aroma is of roasted coffee, chocolate and hops. The taste was terrific. The carbonation was quite low, which I liked a lot. Initially I could detect what deemed to be dark chocolate mixed with coffee. On second tasting, I noticed a hint of caramel and maybe a little molasses. The finish is bitter without having the kick of added carbonation, so I liked it a lot. cazort (418), Newark, Delaware, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Nov 25, 2005 Aroma not that overwhelming. Not much head; quite flat. However, the minute the flavour hits: wow. This one is very well done and the flavour offsets anything else less than great that you could say about this beer. A very delicate balance of roasted malt, some hops (not very bitter), and thick molasses flavour, a little bit dry, and not at all sweet. I love it: the rich molasses flavour, without the sweetness is definitely a winning combination. This one also does a good job of tasting "like a porter" without tasting much at all like any other porter I’ve had, so they get some bonus points for originality! And I might add that the price is quite reasonable. RAYBOY01 (1847), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 25, 2005 Rich, roasted chocolate flavors are very well balanced by a fairly upfront hop bitterness, combining to create a very repeatable Porter. This is my idea of a nice session-type ale. FROTHINGSLOSH (2025), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized dark brown head The aroma is moderate amounts of floral hops and some light coffee. The flavor is bitter and has a noted coffee element. The finish is also rather bitter. There is a nice floral hop presence. sloth (1678), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Small tan head, fair retention and lacing. A largely black brew. Nose of light roast, chocolate and a hint of licorice. Body is med/light, lightly creamy on the palate. Milk chocolate notes, light roast backed with a fair hop spiceyness. Finish is dry and a touch chalky. A nice Porter.
