| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 12, 2005 bottle-pours deep brown with a sudsy tan head. hoppy, chocolate, char, milky yeast twang, lightly smokey/cigar note as well. hopsy, char chocate flavors with a touch of oxidization. If this bottle were fresh, this would be an amazing porter. good finish. only bad quality is the body. its lightly flimsy and watery, but the flavors here are well distributed. some woody notes come out as the beer warmed a bit. I will drink this again if i can find it! Drew (2410), Kent, Ohio, USA

Taste had a nice amount of sweet chocolate and a dry roasty finish. Palate was smooth and mostly thick. iwantalambic (1389), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 14, 2005 12 oz bottle: burnt cedar, fairly opaque with a persistent ring of off-tan foam that forms from a falling, frothy head. Cherry-raisin aroma with a nice roasted component and maltiness. Palate is touch on the thin side, but has enough carbonation to deliver nice fruitiness and toasted dark malts on top of a subtle toasted hop bitterness. Not too shabby. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 28, 2005 Rock steady porter. Pour was very dark brown with small brim of a white head. Aroma is not all that huge, but the taste more than makes up for that fact. Bold chocolate with a nice coffee hint. Big malts with a nice backdrop of spice and caramel to keep it exciting. A tad on the watered down side, but barely. Very descent brew. Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA
