A very deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet and quite spicy combined with a light touch of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with light notes of malt, chocolate, and roasted malt, leading to a chocolaty end. OK porter, but in the light end of the spectrum.

Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a thin, wispy-lacing tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and chocolate malts with some toasted doughy notes. Body starts slightly thinner for the style but has a nice dark caramely sweetness and some earthy doughy milk chocolate flavor toward a slightly drier finish. A pretty good and quite drinkable porter.

A crystal clear, very dark ale. Only when held up to bright light can the crimson hue be seen darting about the pint glass. The aroma is of chocolate, butterscotch and vanilla. White chocolate and milk chocolate flavor. A touch on the sweet side. An attempt is made with bittering hops, but balance is not achieved. Very astringent, though. Medium-bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, bitter, dryish finish. A lot of nice things going for this brew!

Pours a dark brown with a tan head that dissipates quickly. Smell is of coffee and roasted malts. Taste is of chocolate and oatmeal with some raisins present. This one’s good, but not what I’m used to from a porter.

This poured a deep brown color with a thick, well sustained tan head. The aroma is roasted barley and burnt chocolate. The mouthfeel is very smooth. The flavor is a chocolately roasted malt with a dash of mild hops. Rich but not sweet, this has a clean malty finish. Umami!

Dark brown pour with aroma of roasty dark malt, chocoff, some licorice. Tastes roasty malty, with chocoff, some licorice, hops, and spice. Fairly dense palate with a fairly dry finish. Solid. Blue Ridge (Frederick BC) is a damn good brewer!
