Very dark brown appearance with a small, fleeting head. Toasty, biscuit-like aroma. Initially sweet with the first sip, but then then the dry, well hopped, roasted malt and coffee flavors develop. Finishes dry and slightly bitter.

Black as night with a nice waterfall effect in the dark brown head. Dark roasted aroma with wonderful toasted nuts and dark chocolate. Milky mouthfeel that is very pleasant, bitter-sweet and fully roasted. Nice.

It's all about the roast here, in the aroma and flavor, especially the finish - very much a dry roasted coffee, but I got a sourness at the end that I really really didn't like. Palate seemed very thin.

Black as a coal mine in color.very small tan head that faded quickly but managed to leave a faint lacing behind.Nice roasted malt aroma,Coffee and raisin notes as well as IMo a mildl wine like character but i could just be crazy,in some ways it kind of reminds me of Fish Tales Poseidon.Nice roasty flavor with a medium strenth coffe and chocolate, mild bitterness to it but mainly it has a mild sweet side that seems to be pronounced.the after taste is mild coffe with a mild chocolate or cocoa side. The feel is fairly mellow but there is a slight grit to it on the tongue. All in all this is a fine brew, and a nice trade courtesy of Hopscotch.

Pours dark black with perhaps a tinge of red with a thick beige head. Good lacing. Aroma has an abundance of coffee, nuts, malt and caramel. The flavor is a good match to the aroma, full of coffee and malt.

I didn't especially notice the heavy hopping central to the style. Lovely maple/nutty aroma. Dry mocha flavor, somewhat thin mouthfeel. Very opaque midnight color. Thanks to Hopscotch for giving me this to try at the summer gathering.

Dark brown hue with some head and no lacing. Aroma hinted of roasted malts, expresso, bittersweet chocolate, nuts, and wood. Very sweet taste initially, some hop balance toward finish, Dry and chalky mouthfeel and finish. An easy drinking stout.

Very dark brown; burnt toffee aroma with nuts, toast. Interesting toffee palate; complex maltiness. Low roast factor - a bit porterish (this after an alt that was also porterish...bloody hell).
