| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2008 Pours a copper color with a medium sized off-white bar poured head. I thought this had a nice amount of flavor for a relatively low abv beer. Roasted malts, overall this was toasty, with some complimenting bitter citrus hops. Pretty well rounded and overall a solid choice. CaptainCougar (5532), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma of some resiny piny hops and toasted sweet caramel malt. Body starts fairly full and semi-sweet with some earthy piny bittering hop presence. Finishes crisp and bittersweet, a nice ESB. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2004 This was the next best beer, other than the stout. This one hits all the right notes of what I love about this style. The balance of sweet and bitter hops, with just enough bite, and a sweet malt backbone, with just a hint of toffee. Very nicely done and would drink another glass. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

clear dark amber, wispy beige head, nice lace, very light dry caramel malt aroma with just as light floral hops, nice sweet caramel malt flavor, lots of good balancing bitterness with a long bitter finish, the initial sweetness drys out very quickly living a very balanced beer
