Feb 26, 2003 CASK VERSION: Amber beer with excellent lacey head. Bursts with its hoppy nose. Excellent smooth bouquet, with a sweet finish.

Jun 12, 2003 (Cask conditioned version) pale slightly cloudy gold-amber. Very little head (as you'd expect from a cask-conditioned ale). Nice hoppy aroma. Smooth malt flavor with a great hops finish. A solid cask ale!

Aug 1, 2006 Draft - Chill hazed amber, creamy white head. Soft grapefruity pine nose, with hints of earth and caramel. Flavorful hop tones throughout that had notes of dried citrus and soft toffee. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, dry, bitter finish. Finally a nice one in the selection here. Sessionable in my book...

Sep 24, 2009 Poured to an orange-amber with medium thick off-white head that lingered well and left okay lacing. Aroma was not overwhelming, but what was there was a hoppy citrus fruit with an underlying malty dark fruit and toffee. Mouthfeel was full and slightly bittersweet and the taste heightened the senses of the nose. Finish was well rounded, bringing out both the bitterness of the hops along with a touch of sweetness from the malt.

Nov 3, 2007 A very nice pale ale, one of my favorites actually. If you’re ever down in san antonio on the first friday of the month check out the Blue Star Brewery, its a huge event.

Beautiful hazy amber color, creamy head, nice lace. The aroma has some malt. Very good malty taste, with a lot of caramel, some sugars, robust bitterness (even if the hop is not aromatic as in other Americal Pale Ales). Good.

Nov 5, 2003 Draft, not cask conditioned :(, shaker glass. Copper body is topped by a small, white, frothy, head. Good depth of color and lively carbonation. Cookie malt (M); sprucey hops (M); apple, pear, grape. Smooth, spicey hops. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter flavor becomes a moderately bitter finish with a lingering tingle. Medium-light body, watery/creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. The bottom line is: a tastey ode to cascade hops.

Jul 14, 2007 10th rating. Draft at the brewpub. This was very much an English Pale Ale. Pour was orange amber with a medium slightly off white head. Quite a bit of both citrus hop and biscuity malt in the nose. More of the same with the taste, nice blend of both slightly caramel heps with a bright citrus pine hoppiness. Quite refreshing, would love to try this one on cask.
