omhper (10140), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 7, 2006 Bottled. Clear deep golden, small head. Grassy hop aroma. Dry and crisp with rounded mouthfeel. Somewhat grainy with lingering grassy finish. A refreshing "real" pilsener that by far exceeded my low expectations. duff (5403), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Feb 11, 2006 Bottle. Typical cardboardy Aussie beer. Fizzy and tinny. There is some nice saazy characters in here, just not enough, And the other stuff i mentioned weren’t exactly going to give it a high score. harrisoni (4896), Ashford, Kent, Kent, England Feb 11, 2006 Bottle at Battersea Beer Festival 2006. Brought all the way around the world by Duff just for us to share. What a top bloke. Golden colour with lasting white head. Pilsener aroma which is a bit sickly. Bit of butter and good carbonation, if a little cardboardy. chris_o (4393), London, Greater London, England Feb 26, 2006 Bottle, courtesy of Duff, at Battersea Beer Festival. This may be a cut above the average Aus lager but its no great shakes really. Golden colour. It has a fair amount of Bohemian Pilsner style malt on the nose but there’s a slight buttery edge and even hints of caramel too. Some herbaceous notes on the palate, with more bready malt. Dry, but not very crisp, mouthfeel. Not unpleasant.
hopscotch (4379), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Apr 3, 2007 Bottle... AWOL ’07... Crystal clear yellow lager with a mid-sized, fizzy, white head. Sturdy, small, creamy retention. Spicy, peppery nose with hints of toasted hominy. The flavor leans just barely on the bitter side of balance, as a pilsener should. White pepper and mild, metallic bitterness on the tip of the tongue and in the back of the mouth. Medium-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, delicately bitter finish. Better than expected, but I didn’t expect much.
