| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 20, 2005 Draft. An interesting beer. I had this while waiting for a much delayed flight out of the Louisville airport. Poured a dark amber with a thick head, though that might have been the bartender’s sloppy pour. Very pleasant flavor, but not exceedingly strong in anything. An easy drinker. shanereid (75), Portsmouth, Virginia, USA

Very balanced with a nice hoppy finish. I could drink this all night. SledgeJr (2977), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Nov 19, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with OhioDad, thanks Scott!) Best before October, 2005, so this is being consumed a few weeks late. Self described as a "German Style Amber Ale", I’m really not picking up anything in particular that makes me think "Altbier". Light pale and grainy malts join with a modest fruitiness, some grassiness and a moderate bitterness, but the fairly prominent sour citric flavor isn’t making for an especially enjoyable beer here. In fact, the sourness is even more apparent in the nose and is not pleasant at all. The body is light-medium, the mouthfeel is chalky, and the palate is fairly clean, but the sourness doesn’t make for a pleasant aftertaste. Golden orange body is fairly hazy and topped by a small and short-lived off-white head that eventually dissipates fully. Not good at all, and if the sourness is the result of not being fresh, I doubt this beer suddently fell apart in a few weeks. theacelatrain (262), Washington DC, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 23, 2005 Bottle. Pours hazy brown color. Flavors of sweet wheat and cookies, with some hints of apricot or sweet flowers. Dry, acidic aftertaste. A little too bitey and harsh on the tongue. SuIIy (1486), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

Nose is dried apricots? some sort of figs maybe? Taste is light, smooth has a light bitterness in the finish and flavors of caramel, light malt, some dried tart fruits. Thanks Scott! | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Oct 17, 2005 12oz. bottle, best before Nov. ’05. Lightly malty aroma, toasty and sweet with hints of nut and caramel and faint apple-like fruitiness. Orange-amber in color, some particulates, with a fine, creamy head. Fairly mild flavors here, just some sweet, caramel maltiness and understated fruity hops, some slight bitterness on the finish, perhaps. Palate is nicely creamy and smooth, body is medium. Just very mild, overall; quite easy to drink, however.
