| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 14, 2009 no idea if i’m rating this right. the bottle says bluegrass brewing co. (BBC) amber ale... german style altbier. there is no BBC amber ale, though except the amber waves. so i assume it’s th altbier. it pours a dark rust color. with plentiful head. smells like malt extract. tastes like feet and the floor of a sauna where you place your feet. there’s a fair amount of water in it. i’d say >99%. nothing altiber about it. it’s times like these when i think nick was right when he decided not to rate all the shit-fuck beers like this that have no distinct purpose. well, i guess i’ll qualify that. there is a purpose. if the lay man in lexington goes to some bar and orders this, that’s a victory for microbeer. we cant expect everyone to jump to the levels of drinking/spending that we enjoy. so kudos to that guy, and insofar as my example demonstrats, kudos to the beer. but once that guy drinks more beer and grows a palate, fuck this beer. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 5, 2009 12 oz bottle purchased from Woody’s in Cool Springs. Poured a clear amber color with a two finger off white head. The aroma was strong with caramel. The flavor was caramel, with a sour fruit finish. This was a decent, drinkable beer, but needed a little more to be something good. NeoHippie2 (177), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 29, 2009 Pours a deep amber with an off-white head. Lots of caramel malts and yeast on the nose. Nice malty flavor to it with a touch of hops in the finish. Pretty solid brew. Barrios (861), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 12, 2009 From a 12 oz. bottle set to me from a friend in TN. malty aroma with a little bready/toast. Color is a clear amber orange with a small off white head. I must have poured too vigorously because there is a little yeast sediment in the glass. Biscuity malt flavor with a hint of caramel on the back end, evenly bittered and a little floral/spicy hop character. Clean, easy drinking body and a dry finish. agillespie81 (206), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Dec 9, 2008 Dark copper color...pillowy head, though it fades quickly. Extremely subtle malt aroma, with just a touch of sweetness. Mild malt flavor up front...crisp mouthfeel. Back has a slight bitterness to it...finish is mellow, yet a tad sweet. Probably not one that I would crave a six pack of, though it is very drinkable, and definitely preferred over the average commercial swill. wmubronco1992 (190), Coldwater, Michigan, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 7, 2008 Draft at the brewpub (Cincinnati airport). Amber color. Small white head. Very little lacing. Clean finish. The beer was just ok. Nothing unpleasant, just nothing to get excited about.
