| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 25, 2008 This does not have a very outgoing smell. It looks good held up to the light. The head lingers a bit as a sign of quality. The flavour is malty, scarcely noticeable of hops which are allegedly in the finish. The palate is smooth and pleasant. Overall, a refined taste, but perhaps too conservative to yield much returns for your money (in investment speak). What I mean is, it’s not too different - the best thing about this beer is its smoothness. esjaygee (1537), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 24, 2008 Amber with a thin white head. Aroma of mild caramel and light hops. Taste is malty and bland – mild caramel and cardboard. Mild bitterness on the back end, there’s just not enough going on here to get me excited. mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 3, 2008 Bottle. Finally got my hands on a fresh one. Sticky malt nose, dusty nutty aroma with roasted grain and resiny toffee and caramel. Some chocolate, as well. Clear, dark copper pour with a dense, rocky off-white head. Taste is lightly bitter and sweet, a smack of texture quickly drying to a nutty main. A dash of roasted malt with cookie dough and bread. Much more caramel and even a little butterscotch. Herbal spicy. Light body, crisp feel with a dry grassy ending (resembling other breweries’ Nut Browns, and even this brewery’s, which is much better). Not so much an Altbier as a cross between an American Amber and Brown. hopdog (5604), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 24, 2007 bottle - Pours amber with a one finger lingering head that laces nicely. The aroma is caramel malt and maybe a touch of spice. It tastes sweet and malty with some mild hops in the background. It’s another pretty average craft beer.
