Commercial Description:
Altbier, literally translated as “Old Style” beer, is a classic German ale. BBC Altbier is brewed with additions of Munich, wheat, caramel, and chocolate malts creating a delicate, but flavorful malt profile. This delicious amber colored session beer is balanced with additions of tradtional spicy German hops creating a light and floral bouquet to compliment its complex malt profile.

bottle - Pours amber with a one finger lingering head that laces nicely. The aroma is caramel malt and maybe a touch of spice. It tastes sweet and malty with some mild hops in the background. It’s another pretty average craft beer.

Bottle courtesy of Acknud. Pours mahogany with a white head. Smells of oranges, grass and sugar. Tastes of tangy citrus and earthy. Decent, but there are many better altbiers out there.

12 oz. bottle acquired in trade. Pours the color of caramel with small white head. No lacing to speak of. Mouthfeel is light & thin. Taste is a bit of malts with a hint of hoppiness. A hint of caramel. No aftertaste. A medium body, refreshing beer.

Had on tap. Poured an amber color into a pint glass. The smell reminded me of sweet corn for some reason. The beer tasted full of carbonation, with a mild-hop bitterness. Enjoyable beer, but nothing special.

Very tasty. Pours medium clear amber with a light rapidly diminishing head. Smells of malt and nuts with floral hops. Medium hops in mouth. Refreshing on a hot day.
