Big nose - sweet malt and citrus hop are separate yet equal. Very piney flavor and finish, with a sweet malt presance. This is a big, serious APA. 6%? Really? Wow. Very good! bubbleflubber (900), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 12, 2007 On tap at the Microfestivus ’07... The first thing I notice before commenting on anything else is the hollow mouthfeel. An amber pour shows off a great thick eggshell cap. It has a nice floral piney nose. Pale malts lend biscuit and toast notes, following subtle hints at caramel. The finish is dry-hopped, nothing particularly exciting about it. This isn’t extremely complex or interesting, really. The mouthfeel is watery and the body is thin. A somewhat promising start doesn’t end the same. It feels underdone. mhot55 (99), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2007 This APA verges on being an IPA. Deep orange hue, not completely clear, slight haze (might’ve been chill haze). Has decent malt character to it, slightly bready with the slightest hint of sweetness. Hops are nicely present. not overwhelming, though, but they are the main actors. Thin off-white head, some lacing. flavors of citrus/ grapefruit. With all these factors, the body felt a little light, not really bad, but i was expecting a "heavier" feel. This change was actually nice. Beer went down easy. Good representation of an APA." africakevin (3), USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 1, 2007 One of my favorites. It is pleasantly hoppy without being overbearing. Color and flavor are what you would expect from a good pale ale. Aroma is slightly sweet and refreshing. Wonderful beer all around. Basically an average pale ale... nothing great about this one. No finish... No head... No aroma. Would not buy. pondoshuffles (141), Fitzroy Harbour, Ontario, Canada
