Mostly bitter taste. I sense the watered down taste here...I think it because there is a lack of a strong nose flavor, so you get a strong carbonated water feel on the nose. The hop on this beer is above average, and the watey taste is a statement in itself. Cappadonna (104), Delray Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 30, 2006 Orange poor with white head- fairly bubbly. The beer has a hoppy aroma and flavor, and that’s about it. Finishes moderately bitter and briefly lingers . A bit watery, but I don’t mind. Overall, a decent pale ale. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 24, 2006 Smells great, super hoppy. Head gets nice and murky on top but big bubbles below detract. Taste is duller than the whif suggested, overpowering malts seem unbalanced. Not bad but kind of unrefreshing. Beer of the Month. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 22, 2006 hoppy to say the least! poured a copper hue thin white head minimal retention aroma was hoppy with some honey notes. flavor was hoppy with a smooth finish. slightly watered down but it didnt have a negative affect on the beer. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 10, 2006 Nice copper hue with a weak off-white head. The aroma is toffee and caramel with citrus and herb hop scents. Caramel malts dominate the flavor but a healthy dose of orange and lemon zest are present as well. Finishes on a satisfyingly bitter note. A tad strong for a session ale, but I’d risk it.

Sweet fruity aroma of oranges, citrus hops and biscuity malts. Flavor of biscuit malts, citrus fruits(orange, grapefruit) with a nice hop bitterness on the finish. BeerandBlues2 (3231), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2005 Draught at brewpub. Pours cloudy, murky light brown sugar to hay in color, with a small foamy white head. Very fragrant floral citrus hop aroma, slight caramel malt nose. Heavily bitter and acidic hoppy citrus rind flavor with a caramel malt body. Medium bodied and slightly dry palate. SledgeJr (2977), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 8, 2005 Updated: Jan 21, 2006On tap at the brewpub. Outstanding hop aroma. Cloudy light orange in color. Very close in appearance to their Belgian IPA. This has two bitterness flavors: good cop and bad cop. Good cop comes first and is pleasant. Bad cop bitterness is harsh and lingers oh too long. The residual burps from drinking this beer have an aroma of molded fiberglass.
UPDATE 1/21/06: Thanks to pman for sending this bottle to me via the January 2006 Beer-o-the-Month Club. I think it may be a little smoother in the bottle than on tap. I don’t get the delicious fruitiness in aroma or first bolus of taste as I did on tap, but the harsh lingering bitter bite is not as unpleasant.
