Commercial Description:
An American standard, BBC APA is a full bodied and heavily hopped American Ale. It is copper in color and brewed with a blend of pale and crystal malts, balancing the citrus and pine flavors from large doses of American and English hops to create a very drinkable, hoppy ale. BBC APA is a hophead’s dream!

12 oz bottle - Pours cloudy amber with a healthy 1/4 inch offwhite head that laces quite well. Aroma is strong grapefruit and some flowers. Flavor blasts you upfront with grapefruit hops that would please even the pickiest hophead. Odd though how you don’t get much malt flavor though. More of a grainy finish and somewhat dry for a pale ale. On the palate this one just feels a little wierd and unbalanced due to the powerful hops in the front. Oddly enough though it was somewhat refreshing tonight since my air conditioner quit working.

Pours bronze with thin white head. Intense citrus floral aroma. Oily mouthfeel dominated by aggresive hoping. Malts more present in the aftertaste, but still muted behind overwhelming hoppiness. Pretty good as APA go, although I’m not a fan of the style.

Cinncy Airport - Deep amber, creamy white head. Nose was dried peppery grapefruit with light earthy tones. Flavor was similar with an ultra bitter citric hop slap to my hungover lookin face. And that was it...no balance from the "generous amounts of malt". Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, crazy "suck the saliva out of my mouth" dry finish. Need I say more? Probably not...

This poured out a hazy dark amber with about a half-inch of white head. The body was a bit murky and decent lacing was left around the glass as it was consumed. Citric hops jumped out at you from the aroma with a backing of caramel malt. Taste starts off with a bitter citric bite before mellowing into slightly sweet malt. Grapefruit bitterness was on the after taste that lingered for a bit. Body was medium and pretty standard fare. With the good hoppiness and a decent balance this is quite drinkable. I didn’t have high hopes for it but it turned out to be an all around solid brew thanks to oracle.

Good, hoppy p. ale. Standard fare though. Can’t say much to the head, serverd in a sampler and it died quickly.

Fridge Temp. Big hoppy nose. Creamy white head, retains decently, laces well. Very, very hoppy but not resinous, which is nice. Hops seems to be obscuring some minor off flavors, maybe a hint of butterscotch. A bit too bitter on the finish. Not terribly well balanced, maybe I am loosing my hopheadedness. This is definitely on par with the great west coast APAs. Has the Midwest talent for beermaking started to creep southward?

Bottle. Flowery hops and cherry malt aroma. Reddish tan color with ample head. Sweet cherry malt flavor with strong hops finish - moderate carbonation - a heavily hopped beer - not one for those that don’t like a hops bitterness.

Bright peachy amber colour with a thin, lasting head. Aroma had very little to it...mostly malt. The flavour and body were very light and mostly malt with some residual sweetness. Practically a mild. I don’t think I would have this beer again.
