Flavor seemed just a little off to me. It either needed a little more malt backing or a little less bittering hops. It was slightly out of balance. It could also use more flavor and aroma hops as it was hoppy bitter without being hoppy flavorful. Not bad, but not great either. glkaiser (1172), Seattle, Washington, USA

Delicious hop aroma. Infused with just the right amount of hops where you know it’s there, but it doesn’t take away from the other flavors. After taste almost hints at a flavor of vanilla as the hops settles. dmtroyer (415), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 26, 2008 12oz. Poured darker than I expected to a deep amber. Good aromas of pine and bitter fruit was misleading as to how it would taste. Sour body with some serious hops. Noticeably lacking in malt. Struck me as a bit half-hazard and rough around the edges. Maybe it just isn’t my style. Goodgrief (1161), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 26, 2008 April 2006 - Well, I get to cross another state off my list, thanks to eaglefan538. The beer looked and smelt impressive...darkish color with nice foamy head which left a sheet of lacing. Flavor was a little thin...mildish hops, even for an APA, a little caramel a little bready malt. If flavor was a bit fuller, this would have been really outstanding. tunneler (113), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 24, 2008 Solid pale ale, but i noticed some off-flavors similar to what i get when i don’t let my home brews age long enough. Not bad though! KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 11, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark amber with the slightest hint of a whispy, white head. Aroma of earthy hops and toasted bread. Body is a bit thin. Flavor is nice. Caramel malt backbone dominates the beer early, but the piney hops creep through towards the end. Bitter finish clings to the back of the tongue for just a little bit. Nice beer.
