| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 19, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a thick creamy rosy beige head. The aroma is roasted malt and nuts. Initial flavor is pretty full, rich, malty, weak coffee. Later it becomes a bit more nutty. The finish is dry, some bitterness, with a very weak coffee note. The bitterness is moderate but adds balance to the rest of the flavors. Medium body and somewhat smooth. A decent local offering. obguthr (1063), Poquoson, Virginia, USA

Tinny almond flavor with sweet hints of marzipan, but a little dirty. Pecan finish. Alcohol is a little insistent at times. biznizness (952), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 19, 2009 An old beer of the month that I found lingering the other day as I attempt to clean out my beer fridge. The label was different, but so was the one on the other BBC beer they sent me (amber/alt). Tasty brown, certainly not anything crazy, but solid, like the amber. Would try more from this place if they distributed here. screigh (262), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Pours a light brown bordering on copper. No head at all. Malty aroma with a hint of caramel. Taste is thin, lightly malty and just the proper amount of bitterness in the finish. OK brown ale. ratman197 (3256), Arvada, Colorado, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2009 12 oz. bottle that I received as a gift from my friend Russell. Pours a hazy brown with a thin-moderate off-white head that faded to a film after the first two sips and left scant lace. Very pleasant aroma of hazelnuts and chocolate. Very nice. The flavor steps back a bit from the aroma and is not as rich. There is a solid dose of English malt up front along with some mild hazelnut and just a bit of coffee. Overall, this is a pretty solid English style brown ale. drowland (1429), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
