Hints of citrus fruit, honey, and fig stand out. The flavor is pretty complex. I detected, cherry, caramel, dark fruits, citrus fruits, sweet malts, and hops on my palate. This was a very nice barleywine. Will sample again. Lagunitasfan (481), San Diego, California, USA

Super sweet with hints of tobacco and leather in the afters. Thick and sweet with a lingering sharpness. I liked it. padrefan98 (788), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA

Thanks to stefanje, lagunitasfan, weeheavysd, fordest, wetherel, alohac and of course toncatcher for suppling the house and grub. Wasn’t a huge fan of this one, but it was a decent barly wine. A little too boozy. stefanje (958), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA

A light brown-copper pour with a small off white head. The aroma is big and fruity with apricots and persimmons. The taste was a classic barley wine with apricots, almonds, toffee, and some rock candy. The finish is long and sweet. The palate is full and smooth. Overall: a very tasty concoction. kiefdog (1647), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 21, 2009 Acquired via a sweet-ass trade with moejuck. That guy ROCKS! Pours brilliant clear deep copper with thin off white head. The aroma is bright with cherries, raisins, figs, prunes and sweet cherry hard candy followed by just a hint of alcohol heat on the nose. The taste is chewy sweet goodness with cherries, prunes, raisins and some figs pushing over the palate. Behind the rich fruity assault is a thick viscous layer of sweetness accented by mild malts. This is rich sweet goodness. Very tasty English style barleywine. Should be even better with a year or more on it. markwise (1200), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 5, 2009 Thanks tpd975 for the share. Pours caramel brown with a nose of dates, plums, figs, fruit, caramel, booze, sugar, and syrup. Flavor is syrupy caramel, booze, brown sugar, honey, and floral hops top it off. Sweet and smooth silky goodness. Enjoyable Barleywine, but about as sessionable as a rhinoceros steak. EithCubes (2176), Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 19, 2009 Bottle, been sitting on this one for a year. Heavy caramel, overly malty nose, musty (hop?) presence and an overall intense gustatory experience. Gradient ruby pour, no real head, but what little leaked out was beige. Murky caramel and heavy fruit, prune, raisin/molasses notes with fig and orange. Toffee and maple syrup. Medium dry taste, a little vomity. Apple in the burp, but only faintly. A heavy, big boozer, hops have faded with padded time. Received the step-child beat-down, a true thrashing, but still, yum.
