| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 16, 2008 First had during a blind tasting. Decent idea of what was in the fridge with surprises, but no idea what was being poured. Lots of styles were available. Anyways, popped another one to sit down and rerate. This beer is great!
06 bottle. Pours a reddish brown with a decent sized off white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, hops, just a tad bit of citrus. Flavor is toffee, dried fruit, caramel, wood, chocolate, hops. Finishes bittersweet, great mouthfeel, lasting bitterness.
One of the highlights of the blind tasting night. Glad I had another bottle to do a full on rating. Oh, and look like I’m at number 300 already! Thanks for both of these wj94. carl4beer (401), Fairfax Station, Virginia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2008 Surprisingly tasted more of roasted malt. Had subtle aromas of plum and licorice. Flavor was pretty nice with that malt, then a little bit of milk chocolate. Neither of which I expect in my bw’s but it was nice. Very smooth for 10.5%. Bottle again from Eithcubes. Poured a maroon and brown color. Palidor19 (1785), Brandon, Florida, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 22, 2008 The aroma has caramel, lightly toasted malt, citrus hops, bourbon, and figs. The appearance is hazy amber with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma with a bitter finish. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s good. BossHossBikes (147), Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear, deep, dark burgundy with a velvety beige head. The aroma has dry bread notes with caramel, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, and very slight hints of coffee and cocoa. The flavour is extremely sweet and quite viscous. It’s a little too sweet for my tastes, though. However, it’s quite flavourful. As soon as the brew hits the tongue, there is an intense burst of caramelized brown sugar sweetness. Burbon quickly becomes a defining character with some light citric notes. As the brew passes, the bourbon flavour intensifies quickly then starts to subdues soon after. Slight earthy notes arise. Extremely subtle hints of coffee and not-as-subtle hints of cocoa, and toffee become apparent. This is an enjoyable beverage. However, I can only take it one sip at a time. It’s just too sweet for my taste buds. hopdog (5606), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
