Strong, sweet caramel nose, tangy orange citrus notes. Full body, nice lace. Thick malty flavor, caramel, pancake syrup and earth with an orange citrus twist. Very drinkable and the big alcohol is well hidden. Surprisingly mild finish, sweet malt and mild orange, a bit of light brown sugar residue is on my lips. One of the most drinkable, high alcohol beers I have ever had. SoLan (1427), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2007 Courtesy antzman. Dark, hazy amber. 1.5cm frothy tan head. Aroma has a ton of honeydew melon with some navel orange, light soap, and sweetness. Same flavor- no distinct malt, just sweetness and hops. Full body, balanced carbonation, too syrupy. Love the clear orange and melon notes, the rest needs work. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 20, 2007 12 oz bottled December 2006, courtesy of Secret Santa. Pour is ruby brown with a 1/2 inch dirty off white head. Head really stuck to the sides of the glass. Aroma is sweet malt, hint of oak and alcohol. Taste is caramel sweetness, with the oak (which has almost a smoky characteristic) and some nuttiness. There is a nice hop bitter finish, which then reveals some heat in the after taste that lingers. This was a nice Barley Wine that no doubt would improve. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 14, 2007 Rustic red color with a staying thin beige skin. An aroma packed with odd surprises. Vinegar at first, then fruit snacks, pineapple juice, and carrot cake. Toffee and fresh baked bread on the back end. Very acetic. A dirty tropical fruit rind flavor with a hollow, burnt graham cracker crust feeling. Peaty and metallic with a hot finishing bite. Pungent bursts of grapefruit juice in the sun and tangy lemon pepper. Despite all the weirdness it manages to be pretty dull. Palate smacks of hotness in a nail polish vein. Strange, unrounded stuff without much direction. Thanks Steve! SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Pours a rusty orange brown color with a medium beige head. Aroma of sweet caramel, dark fruit, feshly cut oak wood and malty pine. Taste is sweet with a strong oak woody caramel presence. Hoppy with a piney finish. Quite different than your average barleywine, but very nice indeed.
