Oct 22, 2006 served at NYC Great World Beer Festival (A Brewtopian Event). poured dark black with medium tan head. Smells of roasted coffee. has a very buttery, oily, viscous mouthfeel. I couldn’t pick an adjective because they all seemed so appropriate. sweet, brown sugar and sweet malts (coffee, chocolate, a little caramel, toffee), roast, bready yeast, coffee flavoring. finishes sweet and dry.

Jul 31, 2005 Draft - some licorice in the aroma, along with some chocolate and the milk stout sweetness. My wife said it looked like used motor oil ... I agree! Black as night and only a few bubbles atop. No head at all. Flavor is chocolate and anise. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Very nice!

Jul 3, 2005 Pours a deep black with a thin dark tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee hints and caramel. Very creamy and smooth roasted flavors with a sweet malty milk finish.
