Bottle courtesy decaturstevo. Thanks! Pours a deep ruby brown with a thin tan head. Molasses and chocolate aroma. Body is light, with medium carbonation. Nutty coffee taste. Enough coffee that the phrase ’stout porter’ comes to mind. Dry and lingering bitter finish.

Bottle. Chocolate and light roast aroma with subtle hoppiness and a hint of apple juice. Deep, dark ruby with a sticky, bubbly light brown head. Nice bitter roast on tasting, body is too light, though. Light acidic sourness and some gritty nutty toffee. Dash of packaged coffee creamer. Aftertaste and finish are bittersweet. Deeper aftertaste is extremely dry. A mild porter, but kind of boring.

A little thin and flavorless overall. To be fair, I tried it immediately after Speedway Stout, so may be a contrast effect. I will revisit if anything changes on further tasting.

Very dark brown body, thin tan head, mostly diminishing. Aroma is of old malt, roasty and chocolatey, smoke, yeast and grassy hops. Not bad, but blended in such a manner that it evokes a mixed up sequence of sensations when nosing; feels loosely strewn about. I have come to find that any beer I try from Bluegrass Brewing evokes such a feeling. Taste is a little more interesting, a little better. Bigger roasty notes don’t fit well in this hoppy and thin porter. Chocolate is nice, as is the coffee that sneaks in towards the medium-dry finish. The palate is too grainy but nice otherwise with a very creamy mouthfeel and excellent carbonation levels. On a high note, the thick mouthfeel is larger and more refined than expected. Not bad, not so good, just a little above average.

Pours nearly opaque black with about a finger of tan head. Aroma is malty, and with chocolate notes coming through. Chocolate and roastiness show in the flavor, but probably a little less than their could be. Just a little more roasty flavor and this would be a great porter, although it is still very good.

Dark color, roasted malt aroma. Nutty flavor with hints of chocolate and toffee. Full bodied with a grainy finish.

Pours with a dark brown to black body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. It’s roasty and malty with a slight sweetness, a slight coffee note (not so evident in the aroma) and a very slight touch of dark fruit (which comes through as slightly rotten in the aroma). Full bodied, smooth and a touch warming.

A decent brew. Got this as a gift from Kentucky people - I like trying good local brews! This is a good porter, dark and flavorful, a little watery but I’m not complaining. When I go to Kentucky I’ll try something from this brewer. The taste is bitter and rich, carmel, coffee/toffee a good flavor.
