Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small dark tan head. The aroma is full of strong roasted malts with a moderate floral hop presence. The flavor is strong roasted malts with moderate bitter floral hops. The mouthfeel is rather thick for a porter. The finish is dry and roasty. Cappadonna (104), Delray Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2006 The sweet and malty aroma is very inviting. Nothing jumps out flavor wise other than some notes of coffee. I found the beer light and drinkable with a nice mouthfeel. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 24, 2006 mild porter but still good a nice brown pour with ruby highlights. bone color head. some roasted chocolate notes and coffee. taste was manily sweet malt with some coffee notes. finished really smooth. stouty1 (9), Ypsilanti, Michigan, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 16, 2006 had a hard time getting a nice full head pouring it into my snifter. Wrong glass for this beer?? It dissapated rapidly to a small ring arond the rim. Appearance is definitely dark witha hint of red. Looks like any other average Porter.
Taste is a burnt maltyness. Leaves your mouth with a wetness that is not the normal effect I get from a Stout-like beer. Carbonation is nice. I cannot taste any chocolate, just a burnt sensation. I thought it was pretty tasty, in the beginning, but drinkability seems to be getting worse as I go. Cornfield (4938), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 11, 2006 I like the looks of this, a dark brown with red highlights and a tall, creamy light brown head. The aroma is mainly chocolate and lightly roasted malts, not too sweet, with some earthy hop bitterness. Smooth to the palate, it’s a malty, chocolatey brew that finishes on a mildly bitter note. Easy to drink.
