| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 8, 2005 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is a bit of coffee, and a little chocolate. The taste is pretty even with a good combination of malts and hops for an easy drinking combination. heemer77 (4303), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 4, 2005 Very dark amber color that approaches brown, but is still definitely tinted red. The head is a very light khaki color. The aroma is dank and musty sweat socks with a little chocolate and coffee. The taste is strong roasted coffee with notes of chocolate and some nuts. Too much musty, day old coffee in here. A decent porter, but I would not go out of my way to try again. jazz88 (2237), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 19, 2005 Bottle. Black color with a tan head. Toasted malts, coffee, dark bitter chocolate and a lightly smoked flavor. Searchlight casting for faults in the clouds of delusion... Is it intended? If nothing else, my first Kentucky beer. Thanks to Ohiodad (Scott) for the trade. IndianaRed (1555), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 1, 2005 Bottle pours a very dark brown with some ruby highlights. Nice cramy tan head that leaves thick even sheets of lacing. Aroma is the common porter dark roasted,. chocolate malts and slightly sour twang. Flavor was mostly the bitter roasted smokey flavor. Fairly thin feel and a nice old campfire aftertaste. Thanks to Ohiodad for this one. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 28, 2005 The pour was dark brown and seemed flat until the large dark tan fluffy and creamy head errupted. Nose was caramel and roasted choclate. The taste was more a kin to burnt coffee. Bitter and dry, but not truly unpleasant. There is also a strong smoke after taste. I love the British Broadcasting Company so I was delighted to see they also brewed, but you’d think they’d be based out of London and not Kentucky oh well.. Roasted coffee beans aroma. Brown/black with a frothy head. Chocolate malt and some unexpected tobacco tinged flavor. Not a bad flavor just a little unexpected. A very nice sipping beer that finishes well. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 25, 2005 Mahogany body with a creamy tan head and good lacing as it descends down the glass. The aroma is a nice blend of coffee and chocolate with a malty sweetness and dried fruit. Medium body and a tad watery. The flavor was clean and smooth with nice notes of all the aroma elements. Well made brew. Thanks, Kevin.
