Commercial Description:
A rich and robust blend of light, caramel, and dark malts sets the stage for BBC Dark Star Porter’s robust presence on the palate. This smooth but robust porter has complex notes of chocolate and roasted grains balanced by additions of traditional English hops, creating a delicious chocolaty and smooth ale.

somewhat light for a porter in color. minimal head. smells like chocolate extract. tastes a bit thin, but it’s pretty milky and chocolate. really not bad.

Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Dark brown/black color which shows ruby against light. Tan head didn’t last. Strong aromas of espresso and dark malt. Flavors of espresso, burnt malt and treacle notes. Finishes rather dry with decent bitter and burnt malt. Pretty good stuff.

Bottle. Brown pour. Light brown head. Aroma is very roasted and has some slight chocolate notes. Flavor is of overly roasted malt and stale coffee. Body is thin. Too carbonated. Not a winner.

12 oz bottle purchased from Frugal MacDoogal’s in Nashville. Poured a dark brown color with a one finger brown head. The aroma was roasted malt and a bit of coffee. The flavor was a little mild, but hints of coffee and roasted malt were there. The palate was average due to a relatively thin body. This was an ok beer, and something that I could find myself drinking several of, but not a top tier brew.

Black in color...opaque. Thick head, with a nice creamy texture. Sweet malt aroma. Front starts off with a pretty mild malt taste...extremely crisp mouthfeel. Heavier, more robust malt notes develop in the back...finish is dry, with a slight hop bitterness. This brew has good flavor, though it is a tad hard to make out at points due to its overwhelmingly crisp palate.
