| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Nov 29, 2008 This beer pours a deep brown with a tan head. The aroma has a strong corn note to it, which I find uncharacteristic of a porter. The taste also has this. It has a medium body with medium carbonation. This beer is okay. Not that great, but drinkable. gilvanblight (390), Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Smells like that waft of cooked, grilled meat when you pas by a Burger King or Harvy’s. Much less overpowering then most porters. Nice and mellow with more then enough oomph to blow away most macros. Rather nice. Butters (1650), Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2008 Updated: May 28, 2009Grabbed a bottle out of the bargain bin at J Barlycorn’s. No telling how old this guy is. Pours a wildly effervescent brown with creamy mocha pillowtop head. Aroma is sickly sweet and fermented berry. Flavor is bitter and sweet chocolate. Maybe early stages of something infected. Medium thin body with huge carbonation. Bitter sour chocolate coffee finish. I’m hoping this bottle has gone south cause otherwise this brew ain’t that great.
Rerate: much better, roasty, nutty, and smooth. no sourness. still a little thin on the palate. drfabulous (1240), Columbia, Missouri, USA

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Tap at cin. Airport.pours a dark choc brown with almot no head. A few wisps of froth that look like baby clouds. Aroma not much, bit of roastiness and chocolate. First flavor is bad water. Then the earthy dirt kicks in. Taste is similar to how I envision mud. Then the roast and chocolat followed by a bad bitter that is not pleasant. Mouthfeel is water. I had a glass of water and did a comparison, not much different, although the water tasted better. I can alo taste the alcohol before the bitternes in the aftertaste. It’s not horrible, but this would be the last time I get this one. n49921 (108), USA
