Aroma is cocoa with slight caramel and coffee. Flavor is earthy caramel, cocoa and some slight apple and prickly herbs. A nice bitter finish of char, herbs and ash. Medium body is almost chalky-dry, and light on carbonation. Nice take on the traditional British style. anders37 (4708), Malmö, Sweden

| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 26, 2008 There is little to no aroma. It is black and opaque with a head that lingers a few minutes. The flavour is chocolatey and malty, but with an unnecessarily offensive overly bitter aftertaste. Really quite bitter and not recommended, though certainly still better than many beers. Just beware. Kind of boring and bitter. esjaygee (1531), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 25, 2008 Dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Taste of roasted malts, coffee and mild chocolate. Not a great effort for a porter. knights97 (81), Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 13, 2008 loved this beer, had a bottle a few months ago, while I can’t remember much about the aroma, my lasting memory is that it’s a simple, smooth beer, that was dark in body, would definitely drink it again. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 15, 2008 Bottle - Cream and chocolate aroma. A tad thin, but this beer does have a nice roasted/burnt flavor that helps compensate for the thin quality of the beer. A very enjoyable beer. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2008 I don’t know. I liked it. Creamy with a kind of powdery chocolate quality. It is thin, but in this instance, I think it works well--more thirst quenching that way and, more importantly, kind of remarkable, for this thin body seems to bear the "weight" of the creaminess. Nothing wrong with this one at all.
