Aroma was light clove and ripe apple. Appearance was brown with a creamy carbonated head. Flavor was mostly clover and some light apple, with perhaps a little caramel as well. Palate was creamy. It was aiight.

Draft sample at brewpub. Poured clear brown color with an average fizzy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt wheat aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet spicy finish of moderate duration. My expectations where not met with this brew.

On tap at the brewpub, 8/07. Deep reddish brown, slightly cloudy, short off-white head, very little lacing. Sweet and slight fruit/herbal aromas, Palate was thin, soft. Overall, it was a bit bland.

Rated 2007-08-11 - Pours brownish amber with a mostly receding light tan head. Aroma of soft wheat, banana, and phenolic notes of apple, clove, spice, and lightly sweet toffee. Taste is phenolic with less pleasant notes of plastic, apple, and light sweetness. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with light carbonation. This is undercarbonated for a wheat beer, and the lack of carbonation diminishes the detection of esters. They’ve now brewed a hefe, weizenbock, and dunkelweizen with this yeast, and each one has gotten progressively less estery and more phenolic. As one of my favorite styles, I’d have to say this was rather disappointing. (Ar 6 Ap 4 Ta 6 Mf 3 Ov 13)

Rated May-09 - Pours amber with a mostly receding tan head. Aroma of toasted barley, soft wheat and banana. Tastes of light toffee, banana, clove, and soft wheat. Mouhtfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. (Ap 4 Ar 6 Ta 6 Mf 3 Ov 15)
