On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown, mostly clear, short white head. Aroma was nutty and a little sweet. Light caramel in the taste, sweet with dry finish.

Sep 15, 2008 Pours a translucent brown in color. Only about a half inch of head forms on the pour, and is quickly gone. Smell is very roasty brown malts and some hops. Taste is more of the heavily roasted malts, but there’s a good amount of bitterness coming in at the end. I’m not sure if it’s the hops or something else. An alright beer, but there are much better Brown’s to drink.

Aug 28, 2008 Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Reddish tinged brown color with a very slight off-white head. Aromas of chocolate! and roasted malt. Near medium in body, rather creamy carbonation. For me there’s a light sour touch, with chocolate, and mildly roasted malt. Finish is neither sweet nor bitter, and that chocolate aspect sticks to the end.

Aug 21, 2008 Brown pour with hints of red off white head and lace. Toasted malt aroma. Semi sweet roated malt flavor. Good carbonation and mouthfeel. Very solid brown ale.

Aug 20, 2008 Sampled at the 2008 Music City Brewers Fest. Brown in the glass with an off-white head. Dark cocoa in the aroma. Chocolate and caramel malts in the flavor with a good backing of nuts. Light body. Enjoyable.
