unclemike (339), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Jun 13, 2008 Pours clear brown with a soapy tan head. The aroma is malty with some cocoa, toasted malt, hints of coffe and some nuttiness. Medium / light body with a good amount of semi-sharp carbonation. The taste starts sweet and malty with light mollases, underlying butterscotch and bits of honey. The finish has a bit of spice and lingering sweetness. Not bad, just pretty darn plain
bhensonb (2860), Woodland, California, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bottle from Vintage Cellar. Reddish tinged brown color with a very slight off-white head. Aromas of chocolate! and roasted malt. Near medium in body, rather creamy carbonation. For me there’s a light sour touch, with chocolate, and mildly roasted malt. Finish is neither sweet nor bitter, and that chocolate aspect sticks to the end. decaturstevo (1192), decatur, Tennessee, USA Aug 21, 2008 Brown pour with hints of red off white head and lace. Toasted malt aroma. Semi sweet roated malt flavor. Good carbonation and mouthfeel. Very solid brown ale. Beer_Hawk (694), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Aug 20, 2008 Sampled at the 2008 Music City Brewers Fest. Brown in the glass with an off-white head. Dark cocoa in the aroma. Chocolate and caramel malts in the flavor with a good backing of nuts. Light body. Enjoyable. dp (476), uniontown, Ohio, USA Aug 6, 2008 bottle, sweet bitter chocolate witrh nutty after-taste, i could see really enjoying this in the fall, but not too bad for this time of year too nqualls (185), Tennessee, USA Aug 3, 2008 Poured a clear dark ruby color with a one finger brown head. Aroma was of nuts and caramel. Flavor was of nuts and some fruity taste that I can’t place. This beer was pretty heavy. Little lacing. This was an ok beer, but I wouldn’t go back for it again.
