Aroma is subdued, hints of leather, raw wood, dark fruit, acetic notes, the funk is really mellow. Flavor is mildly sour, with a slight astringency. Not my thing.

Pours a light, clear golden amber with a solid creamy white head that recedes to a small cap and leaves onlly spotty lacing.
The aroma is not too bad with a dominant vinegar and lactic sourness with some sweet light fruits, like green apple with a bit of tartness.
The taste starts like the aroma with a big lactic sourness which gives way to some fruity sweetness. But the flavor really has an overdone lactic acidity that really makes it difficult to drink, especially in the finish where there is an abrasive acidity that’s pretty unpleasant.
The mouthfeel is dry and woody with a massive tart funkiness that limits the drinikability significantly.
I’m not exactly sure what to say about this one. I certainly don’t get any "quad" characteristics and the lambic character is not all that impressive. Interesting though. DJMonarch (6941), Northwich, Cheshire, England

Sour aroma. Hazy in appearance and a little rich on the palate with a crisp smooth and slightly dry oaked finish. HonkeyBra (1373), Lemont, Illinois, USA

Grainy, nail polish flavor. This should probably go down as one of the worst beers of all time. kramer (2517), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 24, 2009 25 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark gold body with a very small thin fizzy beige head that ran to a thin ring. The nose is lightly vinegary with some cherry skins. A little vegetal, with some sugary caramel sweetness. The flavor is quite odd. Just a little vinegar sourness, just a little caramel, and lots of weird dry cereal graininess not unlike Cheerios on the finish. No crispness or brightness at all. Medium bodied with a bit of acetic dryness on the finish. Moderate fizzy carbonation. Certainly funky and weird, but it’s just not refined or focused at all. Not sure what they were shooting for with this one at all. DaSilky1 (2025), San Diego, California, USA

Fruity nose with white-wine, powdered sugar, and nail polish remover notes coming through. Grainy, dirty feet flavors...highly astringent finish..a terrible mouthfeel acts as a palate to all the bad flavors. how nice. Tmoney99 (4794), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured clear light brown color with a minimal fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished with little lacing. Moderate sour yeast and raw smoke aroma. Medium body with a dry texture and flat carbonation. Heavy sour flavor with a heavy acidic finish of short duration.

WOW that kind of killed it for me. But hey you have to work past it. Along with the vinegar there was some fruit. Taste was some oak, the vinegar along with some tartness no doubt a little odd. my first Unblened BDR (2170), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 23, 2009 This was interesting. Brett and oak dominated the belgian yeast character, but a little oaky for my taste. Closer to a flemish red or brown in character than a lambic, but nicely funky and sour.
