ALLOVATE (1127), Perth, Australia Dec 6, 2007 From my notes (tasted June this year)-<br /> "It seems to yield a pinkish hue to its otherwise thinly looking, bright as spring water, drabby gold body. The head the work of solid alchemists and not brewers needs to be praised so I’ll skip describing it. It looks like lemon-lime bitters with a thick rice cake atop. Rancid aroma of urinal cakes, wet cat fur and lemon fizz-whizz left too long in a humid environment it has started to ferment - thus progression sees vinegar and stale apple cider. Grossly metallic (the palate), tinny, awkward is the featherweight watery concoction that entered my mouth. Chemical, soapy and flat in back, no malt or hops here- if added to start with? - this is embarrassing for me and that poor bastard working brewing this shite. It leaves a thick layer of something I could only describe as sucking on a rusty engineers hammer. It is dry, carbonically fizzy on the tip, gassy in the stomach and leaves you feeling bloated after just a half-pint." Errr!!! (37,5cL, 06/09/08, The Beer Store Morley)
jkm (153), Australia Apr 16, 2008 Pale amber/gold in colour with a moderately sized white head. Thin to medium bodied. Average carbonation. Sweet and malty. Rather boring and bland. - 330ml green bottle. strings (327), Sydney, Australia Nov 21, 2007 Bottle. Predictable swill, fizzy cardboard for mains followed by chemicals for dessert. Frank_C (6), Australia does not count Oct 21, 2007 Bottled. Average white head which was mostly lasting. Sparkling body resembles most sparkling wines with a light yellow body which is thin and watery. Hops and malt aromas were virtually non existent. cardboard/paper aromas with a hint of dried apple much like a cider. Sweet and moderately acidic flavors much like a cider making this beer seem like a bad bottle of brut. very short after taste. Medium body with a watery texture at first but left my mouth with a dry cotton mouth after effect. although it appeared very bubbly it was pretty flat on my tongue with nothing special at all about it. I struggled to get through it and didn’t feel like drinking anymore afterwards. I will never drink this beer again. Dredd (371), Ormond, Australia Oct 19, 2007 if being uber-thin comes at a price, the price being Low Carb Beer, then bring on the beer belly! While I don’t have a beer belly i think the sensible thing is nice beer less often rather than average beer more often. Carboard/corn nose, flavour isn’t too bad some banana flavours and Pride Of Ringwood finishing hops?? Big thing missing is body which is to be expected. Fermentable sugars are probably corn syrup and maybe rice which leaves this with the finish of mineral water. I guess it is a candidate for a summer guzzler if i were that way inclined but i think it would all be too much hard work.
