Pours black with off white head.
Aroma leaves some nice hoppy notes.
Taste, floral hops, roasted, leaves a nice light hoppy aftertaste. Rich malty taste, grainy. Thick mouthfeel.
Impressive imperial stout.
Enjoy the hand cut labels, can’t get more artisanal.

Aroma, I got a lot more of dark roasted malts and chocolate.
Taste just impressed me with the amount of dark fruits it gained with temperature. Grovlam (3825), Copenhagen, Denmark

Spare display of lacework. Black color. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, dusty grains. Over the palate came bitter roasted malt. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and somewhat thick texture. Roasted malty bitter finish. JFURYCAT (792), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 18, 2008 NEPA beer club strikes again. This one packs a lot of alcoholic heat up front within a very bitter chocolate toffee walnut flavored brew. The hoppy bitterness is rather earthy and leafy. There is almost a smoky tobacco licorice tone in the aroma and flavor from the malts. The instructions to let this one warm up are important because I noticed a smoother creamy taste while cold and the bitter tones came out when as it warmed. hellbilly (1566), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 11, 2008 bottle by way of glouglouburp... sweet homemade label! very dark brown almost black pour appears a bit thin. a dark khaki head is soft and leaves behind a bit of drippy lacing. bourbon-like aroma has notes of roast, chocolate, wood, pine and floral hoppiness. the flavor is again, bourbon-y with lots of spiciness, roast, chocolate-y richness, vanilla/cigar qualities, pine and grass... literally like chewing on lawn clippings. medium to light sweetness but intense hoppiness finishes it off dry and prickly. coffee noticed in the aftertaste. medium body with a soft slick texture and smooth carbonation which makes it way too easy to drink.
not a typical kick ya in the junk sugary imperial stout. it’s not overly complex but it is interesting, delicious and highly quaffable... Glouglouburp (2881), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 11, 2008 In short: Another over-the-top American Imperial Stout. Brutal but enjoyable
How: Bottle 120z, dropped in my cooler by my buddy dmac. Dave’s the man
The look: Black body topped by a small tan head
In long: Nose is medium roastiness with some alcohol fumes. This beer is big, very big. A shitload of malts, figs and dates flavours, wood coal, tar, burnt toats, alcohol. Moderate sweetness, a bit syrupy. Finish has a strong bite where the alcohol and what appears to be a generous amount of hops. This beer is so big and brutal that I’m left wondering wether or not the name is a figure of speech.

Nice roasty, sweet aroma with some bourbon. Black, small tan head, looks good. Good taste - roasty, well balanced bourbon. Really nice finish, lots of roast, tons of flavour. I upgrade my earlier "good" comment - this is great! mabel (2626), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours black with an average to large size frothy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt with notes of coffee and chocolate. Flavour of roasted malt, hops, some lactic notes and a roasty dry finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good, not a world-beater but a good, tasty beer.
