Headless ruby black, and does not transmit light. Malty pruney aroma without much of the typical roast.. Taste, on the other hand is very roasty, with lots of coffee and intense finishing bitterness. Mouthfeel is still, and semi-oily, and makes for a feeling of the beer being about 10F warmer than it is. $6/12oz

Dec 1, 2009 Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks David Cohen. Black with a very thin brown film of foam instead of a head. Roasty aroma with some hoppiness, woody notes and some alcohol. Very sweet roasty flavor with some dark fruitiness, coffee, nutty hints, and lots of bitter hops in the finish. Medium to full body.

Nov 28, 2009 @ a tasting, thanks David, pours dark opaque with a nice brown head, aroma of chocolate, grapefruit, alcohol, acids and vanilla, flavors of wood, smoke, coffee and vanilla, quite smooth, with medium to full bodied. Had better Imperials.

Nov 21, 2009 At a tasting, thanks David, completly black and opaque, aromas of olive tobaco and some winey hints, maybe barriques, flavours of strong toasted coffee, witg a hint of soy, extremly sweet and overpowering with a bold alcoholic presence. A little unbalanced, had better imperial stouts.

Nov 17, 2009 Bottle: very roasted, some brunt honey, black olives, sweet black coffee, some salt, weak woody notes, sweetish malt, very dry and a little sour finish, pretty good.

Oct 14, 2009 One of the more unspectacular Impy stouts Ive had...Pours deep chocolate brown with not even a breath of head. Oily and viscous. Aromas lead me to belive that there are chocolate and dark fruits in here. Im not let down but the lack of hops is underwhelming to say the least. Its not a bad beginner Imperial stout....rather smooth and chocolatey, but a tad watery and unexciting.Thers pretty much no alcohol noticed so thats a plus I suppose depending how you look at it. meh.

Oct 8, 2009 12oz. bottle, with thanks to Glouglouburp! Pours dark brown/black with a large tan head. Aroma is big roasty malts, molasses, milk chocolate and some coffee roast. Flavor is more roasted malts, chocolate, and molasses. Nothing too fancy here, but good execution and enjoyable on a cool fall evening. Thanks Dany!

Aug 25, 2009 This one ages quite well. I recently had a batch 1, I guess over a year old and it was syrupy malty goodness with a nice bite still. Big coffee and dark cocoa roast. Not overly complex, really drinkable and masks the abv. quite well.
